[Abstract] In recent years, purchasing financial products has become an important investment channel for Chinese residents. However, commercial banks generally advertise their products with excellent properties of high returns and low risks. CHAPTER 1 INTRODUCTION
Since the US sub-prime mortgage crisis has evolved into a global financial crisis, the shadow banking system has been recognized as one of the main inducements. Based on the investment willingness of Chinese residents" enhanced in recent years, purchasing financial products has become an important investment channel and a key method for commercial banks to earn profit. However, commercial banks generally mislead investors by passing some unreal information. There are also some adverse effects to regulators, such as circumventing regulations, producing hedge effects to central bank"s macro-control, etc. Banking trust refers to the conduct that commercial banks through cooperating with trust companies, publish financial products and entrust the raised funds to trust companies to invest in accordance with the contact agreement. As an important financial form among Chinese shadow banking system, trust financial products are included in the banks" off balance assets rather than assets in the table, so they can less even not regulated by banking supervision department.
CHAPTER 2 THE DEVELOPMENT SITUATION, ADVANTAGES AND PROBLEMS
2.1 The Development Situation
The number of trust financial products issued by China"s commercial banks rapidly increases in 13 years from 2002 to 2014, from 17 in 2002 to 25,075 in 2014 and turned 1,475 times. Among them, securities, loan, equity, and creditor"s right investment trust are more popular. It is the encouragement of relevant national laws, policies and international situation promote the development of the product.
2.2 Advantages
First, the products bring considerable intermediate business income and broaden the financing channels； second, the products help ease serious homogenization situation of our banking business； third, commercial banks entrust funds to professionals not only avoid the uncertainties of personal investment, but also increase revenue.
